Happy Spring to all of you, I hope your year has been as productive as ours here at Umthunzi, and that the energy of growth, blossoms and the revitalization of new beginnings is blessed to you all.
I hope all our loyal fans are safe in these testing and trying times, we have survived so much, and as much as there is positive movement, we need to keep safe, and look at how we can diversify in every changing time!
The last time I sent you an update was just before my wedding, and how blessed I have been, how lucky to have found such an amazing and loving wife in Diana – she brings such balance to not only my life but to Braedyn too – and not leaving out Jamie & Ronan. I must say it has been a year of blessings in my personal and family life. Jamie was chosen in grade 10 to represent her 1st Team Netball and has enjoyed most of her time on the court, as for Ronan, he has achieved his UGU Hockey & Southern KZN Rugby District representation and Braedyn is cruising through Grade 1 and achieving his pre orange belt at Karate!
Golf has also been good for me, my handicap has remained around the 12 Index differential, and I have managed to get a few prizes into the mix, adding to the collection at home, this has definitely been rewarding, and I hope to continue achieving good scores – so if you find yourself looking for a game, please let me know and I will happily meet you at Port Shepstone!
The Hotel has been blessed with a decent amount of trade, with our highest occupancy in June we have ever had – and we look forward to a continued year of growth, with the upcoming festive season just around the corner – further to this, we are in the final stages of planning and actioning our much-awaited refurbishment, such exciting times.
Things to be on the lookout for are most definitely the release of our year-end function menus & packages – the hopeful return of our craft event in November and then the release of the most amazing ideas when it comes to the refurb!
